ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT POLICY

The INMET Disabled Persons Cooperative conducts its business activities based on the principle of sustainable development implying conscious and properly shaped relations between economic growth, concern for the natural environment and human health.

Being aware of the impact of our activities on the natural environment, we act in an environmentally friendly manner, conducting processes oriented towards the improvement of the methods preventing any negative environmental impact. An element of the Cooperative’s business activities is the maintenance and constant improvement of an Environmental Management System. We improve our Environmental Management System on a continuous basis, following progress in science and technology, and applying the latest solutions in our operations.

We are committed to complying with the legal requirements and other environmental regulations relevant for our activities. We also undertake actions aimed at preventing any potential negative impact of any aspect of our business on the natural environment.

  1. With a view to implementing the environmental policy, we pursue the following strategic objectives:
    • Implementation of a proper selective waste management.
    • Minimization of the amount of pollution emitted to the atmosphere.
    • Optimization of the use of raw materials and consumables in production operations.
    • Elimination of environmental emergency risks based on the constant monitoring of machines, equipment and installations.
  2. We implement our environmental policy in particular on the basis of the following:
    • The use of raw materials and technologies tested with respect to safety for humans and the environment in our production processes.
    • Activities aimed at the protection of natural resources, such as reductions in the use of paper, electrical power and fuels.
    • Improvement of the technological processes, capital expenditures, and modernization of equipment aimed at the reduction of negative impact on the environment.

We systematically provide our employees with information concerning environmental protection and motivate them to adopt pro-ecological behaviours. Our suppliers and business partners also participate in these processes. All managers are actively involved in the implementation of the strategic environmental objectives.

We believe that our activities will contribute to the maintenance of the environmental balance and the permanence of basic natural processes, guaranteeing the possibility of meeting people’s need, both in the present and in the future.
